Unfortunately, the Home Access programme that provided a laptop with a suite of software to support people with literacy, language and communication difficulties has come to an end. So, rather than leave young people and families with no support the time should be right to begin looking at no-cost and low-cost alternatives.
The solutions I have found are indexed to this blog and they should prove useful to students, families, schools, FE, HE, YOTs and YOIs.
In essence, they comprise an online 'Dyslexia Assessment Toolkit for Teachers' who have varying levels of expertise with dyslexia and open source assistive software such as MyStudyBar, a MS Windows toolbar compilation of tools to aid communication and learning.
